Suzuki Kizashi 3 Sport sedan concept

Posted by bensto in Suzuki on 03 25th, 2008

The Concept Kizashi 3 in New York offers a real look at how Suzuki plans to expand U.S. sales via a high-performance sport sedan.

Obviously the closest to production of the Concept Kizashi series that was developed by Suzuki’s Advanced Design Group, each of the concepts is designed to reflect a dynamic athlete in motion.
The first Concept Kizashi took the form of a sport wagon with exaggerated dimensions, generating a lot of attention at the Frankfurt show. The design evolved with Concept Kizashi 2 in Tokyo, a crossover sport wagon that added all-road capability with raised ground clearance and all-wheel drive.

The bold styling of the first two in the series continues with Concept Kizashi 3, which has been refined to reflect the realities of a production vehicle. Due in 2010 as the brand’s flagship, Kizashi’s front fascia has a prominent chrome grille with sharply styled headlights that flow back into bulging fenders. Finished in silver, the Kizashi 3’s wide track and athletic stance are secured by 21-inch chrome wheels.

Illustrated by Suzuki as a mixing between functionality and refinement, Concept Kizashi 3 is powered by a 300-horsepower naturally aspirated 3.6-liter V6 engine with plated cylinders, a technology developed by Suzuki’s motorcycle and WRC teams that saves weight and space. The all-wheel-drive configuration continues from Kizashi 2, utilizing Suzuki’s advanced i-AWD system combined with a 6-speed automatic transmission and paddle shifters for manual control.

Crazy Nissan Car Concepts

If you attended In the Tokyo Motor Show is one of our favorites motor show, you will see many the wacky and wild concept car on display. This year was no exception, and Nissan did their part to add to the concept car fun.

Round Box
A few more conventional (just a little) is the R.D/B.X, or Round Box. With a shape resembling a duck’s bill, the two-door, four-seat compact car provides open-air motoring via a removable tri-partition roof that can be stored in the trunk.
Enduring with the eco-friendly theme, power comes from a direct-injection gasoline engine with a turbocharger and Extronic CVT.The Round Box is designed for passengers to communicate well with each other via a special display that can send information to any of the seating positions.

PIVO2
A follow-up to the popular PIVO shown here two years ago, the PIVO2 is basically a spherical passenger cabin on a four-wheeled platform.Receiving the most attention on the Nissan stand, aside from the GT-R, was the PIVO2 concept.. The wheels can be turned in any direction and the passenger compartment itself can spin 360 degrees.
Each wheel is fitted with an electric motor with power coming from advanced lithium-ion batteries. Not only is PIVO2 friendly to the environment, it also takes care of its driver. A “Robotic Agent” is fitted into the dashboard that recognizes the facial images of the driver, providing not only useful information for vehicle operation, but also “speaks to you to cheer you up or to soothe you accordingly.”

NV200
Created as the future van, the NV200 doesn’t seem all that unusual in it’s standard configuration until you notice the “Attention: Pod Opens” stencil on the side panel. This pod is designed to be configured to whatever commercial or personal need necessary and it extends out the back of the vehicle for easy access to tools, equipment, or whatever else needs to be stored.
The NV200 example on display featured all the gear one might need for underwater exploration and photography. While the design is definitely not ready for production, the idea of a storage system such as this is not difficult to imagine going into production.
